Aesop's Fables

The Bat And The Weasels

One day a bat fell on the ground and was caught by a weasel.

"Please don't eat me!" begged the bat.

The weasel refused. He said, "Weasels are the enemies of all birds! I must eat you!"

The bat said, "No, no, I am not bird! I am a mouse!"

The weasel believed the bat, so he set the bat free.

A little while later the bat fell to the ground again. He was caught by another weasel. Again, he begged, "Please don't eat me!"

The weasel said, "I hate mice! You are a mouse, so I will eat you!"

The bat said, "No, no, I am not mouse! I am a bird!"

The weasel believed the bat, so he set the bat free.
