MAKING ADVERBS WITH -LY 1

RULE ONE: To add -ly to most adjectives, simply add "-ly" at the end.
for example: 
loud -> loudly
snug -> snugly

Directions:
Type in the correct word for each blank.
Then click on the Check Answers button.

smart ->
He clapped his hands together.
intelligent ->
She answered the question .
stupid ->
He stood there smiling  at her.
smug ->
They smiled at her .
senseless->
He  killed the butterfly.

 
RULE TWO: To add ly to words ending in a consonant + y, add "-ily" at the end.
for example: 
happy -> happily
merry -> merrily
busy ->
The secretary  typed a letter.
crazy ->
Peter  danced on the table.
sneaky ->
Steve  took the last cookie.
lazy -> We slept the day away .
angry -> Marge  said goodbye.
